What is a colonoscopy?
A thin, flexible tube with a camera is used to look inside the colon and rectum. It can find polyps or early-stage disease.
Who should be tested
- Blood in the stool or a lasting change in bowel habits
- Unexplained weight loss and anaemia
- A family history of colon cancer
- Regular screening from the age of fifty
When to test and how often will be decided by your doctor according to your risk.
